Germany - nature landscapes

Germany, officially the Federal Republic of Germany is one of the world's leading industrialised countries, located in the heart of Europe. It is bordered to the north by the North Sea, Denmark, and the Baltic Sea, to the east by Poland and the Czech Republic, to the south by Austria and Switzerland, and to the west by France, Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands.
Germany is a democratic federal parliamentary nation, made up of 16 federal states, which in certain spheres act independently of the Federation. Germany in more or less its present form was shaped in 1871, after the Franco-Prussian War, which united a scattering of independent states into an empire.
The Federal Republic of Germany is a member state of the United Nations, NATO, the G8 and the G4 nations, and is a founding member of what is now the European Union.

Germany offers travellers a lot of nature and interesting landscapes, many of which have remained unspoiltby man. With its great variety of flora and fauna, which is partly unique, visitors will experience nature in an unforgettable way. Exploring Germany´s landscapes, either on hiking tours or bicycle trips, is very relaxing for both body and soul. And nature-loving visitors will also have many opportunities to learn more about the processes taking place in nature.
In order to preserve these natural areas for humankind, it has been necessary to take special protective measures. Therefore, a large number of vast protective areas have been created in Germany, all worthwhile visiting.
Germany´s nature parks, biosphere reserves and national parks are havens consisting of valuable natural and cultivated landscapes. Some of these protected areas are unique worldwide.Germany has more than 90 nature parks, 14 biosphere reserves and 15 national parks, which are all internationally recognized. It is only in the last decade that most of these vast areas have been given this special protection.
